Hello Team 3...we need to get ourselves a new team name.

A little about myself...

Name:  Jason or Jay
Age: 28
Tri Exp: 1st season, 2 sprints and 1 Oly done
Upcoming races: 1 modified Oly, 4 OWS, a 112 mile road race, 1 century, and a half marathon

Hey team!  I'm Tracy.  It's nice to be on a team with some old faces!  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone else!

I haven't finalized my goals for this month yet.  It will definitely include running, though.

Hi,I'm Nicole and I have no idea what my goals are right now. I'm having foot issues so I'll probably only swim and bike.

Goals

Bike - 600 miles
Run - 85 miles
Swim - 25,000 yds

and my new favorite goal...SLEEP.  200 hours or roughtly 6:40 per night (not including naps).   I actually think this is the hardest goal for me.  But will be very important in me trying to handle my increased bike volume this summer.

Hi Everyone! I will follow Jason's lead...

Name: Stacie
Age: 33
Tri Exp: None - Still need to find time to learn to swim
Upcoming races: 1/4 Marathon (Aug), 1/2 Marathon (Nov)
Location: Oklahoma City
Goals: Trying to build my run base - upping the distance. Really need the team to kick my butt if I don't do well when I travel (14th through 26th) of this month.  Right now work is putting me in a hotel with NO gym and sharing a car with a male co-worker (who doesn't work out) so we will see how it goes.

Gotta go work on the goals now...

Hi everyone.  I'm Kim and still working on this month's goals.  I've done two HM so far this year and have a couple sprints and an Oly planned for the summer.  1st marathon (Marine Corps) is in October.  My #1 goal is to train injury free this year.  Hmmmm. Not sure how to log something that hopefully doesn't happen. Undecided

Looking forward to a fun challenge.

Name:  Darren
Age: 35
Tri Exp: 1st season, no experience
Upcoming races: Leg 7 of the K-100 mile race, hope to do an oly later this year but I haven't planned anything

Goals:  I loaded my goals into the spreadsheet tonight.  (12 swims, 12 bike sessions, 15 runs and 8 sessions of personal training)  I am still trying to push myself this month with my goals but I am a little nervous about them given that I have returned to work after being off for 4 months to be with my Mom who is fighting cancer.  I have a feeling work is going to push me hard to get my project back on track but I am hoping that I will be able to stay on track and meet these goals.

Hi Team!  Here's my intro, using Jay's format:

Name:  Missy
Age: 28
Tri Exp: 2nd season.  Last year did 1 sprint (my first road race ever!), 3 Olys, & 2 half marathons.  This year, I did my first 5k and my first marathon.
Upcoming races: So far I'm registered for a 200-mile relay (running), a HIM, and another marathon.  I'm thinking of adding a few Oly's in there.  And maybe a 10k & a half marathon in the fall.
Location: Chicago, IL

Goals:
Swim 4x
Bike 20 hrs
Run 60 miles
Yoga 4x

I've decided I don't really like to swim all that much (my arm goes numb if I swim too much), so I'm only going to aim to do an OWS about once a week; if I do more in the pool that's great but I'm already tired to lap swimming!  At least in open water, you're kind of going somewhere, even if it's just out & back.  I'm ramping up my time on the bike since that's my weakest sport, and also increasing my run mileage this month since last month I was recovering from my marathon (aka running only when I felt like it)... Plus, my training program for my fall marathon starts in about 2 weeks as well so I'll be re-instating a structured run schedule into my routine.

So did everyone start off the month right with a good workout?  I had a lackluster swim this afternoon.  I golfed 18 holes Sunday and am still sore from that.  Sad, I know, but that's my excuse for cutting it short.  The good news is I didn't write up this month's training plan till tonight so I'm not behind yet!

Goals this month for me are:

4 bike sessions
10 strength/core sessions
and 80 miles run

I am traveling for work the 14th through the 26th and the hotel I am in doesn't have a gym and I am sharing a car with a non-workout co-worker so we will see how things go. Figure I can get a run in anywhere but the bike sessions and strength are low until I know what I am able to do.

Tonight - 4 mile SUCKY run completed.

Hope everyone else had a better workout then I did.

For those that don't know me here's some info a la Jay's format:

Yeah, I'm officially on a team now!  I went to log today's workout earlier and I went through a momentary panic when I didn't have a spreadsheet to update.  Wink  I really need this chllenge this month to force me to run.  Every year I seem to find lots of excuses to cut my runs short once it gets warm and I am determine to NOT let that happen this year!

There are many familiar "faces" in the team but for those that don't know me:

Name:  Rhoda
Age: 35
Tri Exp: 4th season, I think.  (I'm really not this scatterbrained...  just multi-tasking and too lazy to count the years with and without races)
Upcoming races: Oly and Sprint in Aug, Oly in Sept, contemplating a century in Oct

Goals:

S: 10,000yds
B: 300 miles
R: 40 miles

I can sort of say yes?

Today was my short run day so I hesitate to call it a "good workout"...  But I did feel surprising good considered I did a "long" run (for me) yesterday.  And I did go 0.08 over the plan.

Actually once I got home I was kicking myself because I really should have kicked the pace up a notch.

I'm not sure whether I can call them good workouts but I managed to log a run and a swim tonight.  I seemed really slow tonight and I was pretty sore today from my first session back with my personal trainer yesterday.  Sadly, I found out that the strength training program I developed for myself is not nearly as hard as what she puts me through.

It means going to bed before 10pm.  But, I don't have kids, so I go to sleep when I want to...=)
