Subject: RE: Fitting cleat to new shoesI sue a bit of a cheater's method, but it works.
1. ) INstall the cleats, but don't snug the screws. Just a couple of turns of the screw to hold the cleat on the shoe.
2. ) Bring a friend and either white paint, a scratch awl or very bright craft pen to a parking lot
3. ) Find a light pole, clip in and ride around a bit. Be sure you get the cleat sliding on the sole of the shoe, then just pedal lightly around the lot.
4. ) When you slow to stop, DON'T unclip! Slow and grab the lightpole.
5. ) Have your friend lift your heel and mark the cleat position on the shoe. After they get both marked, you can un-strap.
6. ) Bring the cleat to the marks and snug it down.
This sets it in an average position for your pedaling style. It works for me... |
