Comments: The run went as I was hoping. I wanted to pace this race at a 7:15/mile. I used the virtual partner for the first time and kept a slight negative split. It doesn't help when the watch announces that I'm done a quarter mile away. Very happy since I was able to drop 23 min. off my PR from last year. What would you do differently?: Still working on my required amount of water intake and tried a half a GU packet. Post race
Warm down: Pancakes, Yum! What limited your ability to perform faster: I wasn't trying to go faster but stay the pace I planned. Event comments: Good to see Chad & Josh after the race. Last updated: 2008-10-27 12:00 AM

Alarm set for 4:30. Two Christmas parties the night before may not have been a great idea. I shouldn't blame the great parties but my lack of will power with food and drink. Starting the day with a headache but manageable. Had a toast with peanut butter and banana.
Kim wanted to do a 5 mile pre-run with her run club to get in 18 miles for the day. I went to check in for our bib numbers and stayed warm in the car.
