Subject: How to train between a 70.3 and a full Ironman ????
Hi,
I finished the Ironman 70.3 in Rapperswil (CH) on June 7th. I made a 6 months preparation for this event with proper periodization : endurance phase, speed and long workouts phase and finally taper.

Now .. the question is :

I will participate to the full IronMan (my first one) in Barcelona on October 4th.
I am confused about my training plan ...
What should I do ???
Should I, during these 12 remaining weeks go again for the same type of periodization or should I only concentrate on long workouts, as my endurance base is pretty good ?

Many thanks for your help.
Marc

I believe the site has a bridge plan that is HIM to IM?  Maybe check that out?

Or import the last 12 weeks of one of the IM plans.  Just be sure to recover enough after the HIM to avoid injury as you ramp up the volume.

FYI- I used the BT 3 month bridge plan for my first IM.  I came off a 1/2 IM and then focused on cycling for 3 months and then started the bridge plan. I thought it worked well and I liked the plan.

An IM plan works well off a HIM base.  The same general workouts, frequency etc. are in place.  Mostly your long bike and long run become a lot longer and the rest of your workouts increases somewhat.  But ya look at the bridge plan.  I did a HIM in Mid June and have my first IM on 8/1.  So for me that included a few 100 mile + rides a few 17+ mile runs and a lot of 4200 yard swims mixed in with the rest of the workouts.  It took me roughly 1 week to recover from the HIM and then start back on the IM plan.
