This is a bug with the Garmin 50 and, according to the Garmin forums, the Garmin 310xt. I find it totally unacceptable, and wonder if you could fix it with the BT uploads.
Here's the thing. The Garmin elapsed time includes stops. So, if I hit stop and then restart during my run or ride, i.e., whenever I have to wait for traffic, the Garmin actually creates a lap equal to the time I have stopped. It does not record heart rate during that time, but it does record time.
I recently did a 9.1 mile run. The time showing on my Garmin50 was 1:29 when I was done. But the time on Garmin and BT show 1:31 because it counts the stops. I've just been fudging the numbers on my BT log after I do the garmin upload. I hate doing that, tho! Would be nicer if the upload process could fix this bug.
Anyone have a Garmin 305 or 310XT to verify if it's the same?
The splits look like this on both Garmin and BT
