I did, it's my third try. I foolishly starting doing this the year after they abolished the guaranteed entries after 3 failed attempts. I am joking that I will eventually get in when I no longer care to run it.
I did actually reserve a hotel, etc, the first year. I won't bother with that this year!
I was there to watch and cheer for a few runners. It was an amazing race that was well done. If you get in your will enjoy the race. One of the people that ran it, did a BQ time and the other was there to enjoy the race and had a blast.
ah man they got rid of the 3 strikes and your in program. I was 0 - 3 and then lost my job so I had to pass on the year I could gotten in. I am not going to enter the lottery until I get back into marathon shape. no sense in getting a spot I can not use.
I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?
I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.
At one of my last swim sessions the week of my first Ironman, one of my training partners told me how she was envious..."your first Ironman is fun, you have no pressure and no expectations!"
The ONLY way to compete in my first triathlon was to do it on my BMX. I’m no professional—nor do I aspire to be one, I just want to be fit and healthy.
One of my fears, besides the radioactive material content of the Hudson River, was the water temperature. I found the water was much warmer as I inched closer to the holding dock.
