Subject: Cervelo P2 or Quintanna Roo P3 - Bike Purchase?
Hi All,

So after a long time researching, testing out bikes, and learning from all of you here in the forum.....I am about to make my first ever time trial bike purchase and have narrowed it down to either a Cervelo P2 ($2,800) or Quintanna Roo P3 ($2,500). I am a 5'8" female. Does one bike stack-up better then the other bike? Basically, since I have no bike knowledge, I wanted to see if you know if these bikes pack both the same value or is one a better purchase than the other? This is a huge investment for me. I just want a decent bike to train and compete in my Ironman races. I have done a 70.3 (on a rented bike) and about to do my first 140.6 in the Fall with the bike that I purchase. My goal in the race is to have fun and finish!! Perhaps in the future I'd like to compete in my age group.

Just browsed both.  Same wheels, both use 105 groupsets, so component wise, a wash.  Chances are, one geometry may be closer to your needs in the middle of the adjustment range.  

If you've ridden both, which do YOU like better?  If you like the P2 better, do you like it $300 better?

Can't vouch for the Q-Roo but I am very close to your size and have been happy with my Cervelo P2. It's very durable, handles well, and can take lots of miles on the road and trainer.

I have a P2 and love the bike, except for the color. I went with the white one and it can be a pain to keep clean! The only other issue i have is that I wish it could fit a slightly wider wheel. The horizontal dropouts help, but just a little bit more would be great. Those are pretty minor things and it’s a great overall bike.

With that being said, the most important thing is to get a bike that fits you properly. People often get a bike fit after they purchase a bike, but I’ve found it can be even more valuable to have a proper fit done beforehand and making sure the bike you are selecting is the proper fit for you.

Finding a good fitter... that can be tougher than finding a good deal on a bike!
