Subject: Need some help
Ok I did the Half Iron man training using the generic training log all users have access to last year and man it was great 5' 08" and I felt good, whooped my buddy by 30 minnutes. Bigger dilemma, gonna do 5 (1 olympic 1 half 3 sprint) races this year A race is half iron man. Just joined silver and looked at the 20 month training program cause I have been using the free one to start out with and man there is a big difference in time!!! How do I catch up? I am up to 75 min run and 2 hr bike (so I am surpassing the normal training times) but the new routine is like 105 run and 3 hr bike I feel way behind and I am like in week 18?


Next question how do I jostle the calendar so the long bike is on the weekends? I got 5 kids I gotta be able to customize this calendar or it will drive me nuts.

Question #1:

It looks like you can work up to the week 16 volumes, so I'd try building to those over the next 2 weeks and then following the plan as written from there.

Question #2: 

The plan is designed for a Sunday race with long bikes on Saturdays. Do you know what end date it was imported to your log with?

yep end date is Saturday May 5 - should I just reimport or do I ahve to manually go in and move each long bike from like Tues back to Sun day or Sat?

Since it's not a beginner plan, it has more volume for some improvement.

BUT check out the 12 week Oly to 1/2 Bridge - a little more like the beginning of the beginner 1/2 IM.

If you want to use the 20 week 1/2 IM plan, preface it with one of the 'Winter Maintenance - Focused' Plans, those 8 week plans can help bridge the volume gap.  (in the programs page, compare with the graphs)

To customize, before you import, look at the 'Calendar' view of the entire plan - figure out if you can stagger the plan up or down a few days from race date to make the schedule fit you better.  Note the start or end dates.

Then import the plan....FURTHER customization can be done on a weekly basis.  Sunday before Monday, just use the plan customizer to only move around the upcoming 'planned' weeks training.  Doing only 1 week at a time for the upcoming week  is easy compared to the whole plan at once.
