Run
Comments: Started out strong with mile splits of 7:35 and 7:45 on the gravel road (that was the easy part) Then hit ome crazy uphill singletrack and pretty much stayed on the trail system from there which was either up, or down. I found my pace slowing considerably on the uphills and the downhills were recovery and took a little more effort to control the descents (so I dont bust my ass). Doug caught up with me about midway through the race and we finished uot the last few miles sharing our opinions on each hill. When all was said and done I ended up with a decent pace and good finishing time. This is my longest run since coming back from hip issues, and it was tough but I feel confident I can improve quickly from here What would you do differently?: run more, lose weight. I felt all of my 210# today. even 10 pounds will make a big difference Post race
Warm down: Moon pie, some froo froo peach green tea and some soup. Hung out and chatted with the other racers What limited your ability to perform faster: Being a big dude. Lack of "tough" run training Event comments: Great race fo a smaller event. Good swag, good post run activities and lots of prizes after. I will do this again Last updated: 2008-12-18 12:00 AM
