I could easily do the A distance but the A times look a little agressive.

I kind of wing it because I'm so over following a specific workout (I'm really lazy) but a really good "task" is a vitamin swim.  You alternate comfortable pace lengths with a sprint one and you can modify it to any distance.  I really like it because it breaks up the monotony of swimming.

500 "vitamin swim" - 5 lengths comfortable, 1 sprint, 4, 1 s, 3, 1 s, 2, 1 s, 1, 1 sprint (other distances may end with a comfortable length vs a sprint)
