Subject: Alcatraz Lottery
Anyone know when it opens up?  I think it was Nov. last year.

I got in last year and said I probably wouldn't do it again because of the $$$ (even though it's a fantastic race).  But I may change my mind and get in the lottery again.

Any truth to the rumor that if you made the lottery before, that it's easier after that?

From the Escame From Alcatraz website:

"The 2010 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon Lottery will open December 1, 2009. 

The 2010 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon will take place May 30, 2010."

It is a FANTASTIC race (see my album!) and well worth it. I actually got into the lottery twice, couldn't go the first time b/c that was an IM year and I couldn't afford it. Went in 2008.  However I did enter it 5 times in a row and never got in...at least it doesn't cost anything like the Kona lottery.  Hey, it doesn't hurt to try!
