![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() at pool today I noticed masters swim groups workout for today. I just joined the group but haven't gotten a chance to go to one of their workouts yet. I was trying to follow what their workout was on right side it listed intervals like this 25s :30/:45 50s 1:00/1:15 100s 1:15/1:30 there was more but I don't remember on left side of board it had workout name title Indy 500 and it was something like this 25 25 50 50 50 100 x4 Can someone decode if possible since I seem to have misplaced my decoder ring? |

![]() 25s :30/:45 50s 1:00/1:15 100s 1:15/1:30 there was more but I don't remember This means the lanes (apparently two of them) are doing a set of 25s, 50s and 100s. It doesn't say how many (assuming more than 1 as its plural) So for example say it's 10 x 25 on :30, it could be re-written as "do 10 x 25 yards leaving every :30 seconds". same for the other ones. on left side of board it had workout name title Indy 500 and it was something like this 25 25 50 50 50 100 x4 Can someone decode if possible since I seem to have misplaced my decoder ring? The second one means you do the distances in the order given then repeat the entire thing 4 times

okay. cool thanks. It makes sense now that you point out the lanes. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The times are the intervals for two different lanes, faster and slower. That means, for example, that on the 25's, the first person in the fast lane leaves every 30 seconds. Whatever time isn't spent swimming is recovery time. The workout (probably more just one set of a longer workout, or maybe the main set after a warmup and before a cooldown) sounds like it is 4 sets of: 2 X 25m, 1 X 50m 2 X 50m, 1 X 100m on those intervals. |

Yes, I'd agree that you put this all together. You do the 25s, 50s and 100s in the order and on the intervals given, I didn't put that wrap up in my response. Edited by ChrisM 2016-06-03 5:40 PM |
