During sign-ups, some people wanted to enter more than one goal this month. Therefore..... You may now have UP TO THREE GOALS for November! You may have one goal, or two, or three. It's up to you. On your team spreadsheet, I've set up an "Example" for you to follow. (This example will not count in your team's totals!) Here is your Team Spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0An7ZkKfHG1L1dEF2RGFsVHhOamR... To log on to the spreadsheet, use the following information: Username: [email protected] Password: challengeforum *** If you're already logged onto Google using your own account, you'll need to log out, then log in again with the above information. *** Each team needs to do the following: 1) Pick a team name. 2) Select a team captain. Team captain responsibilities: 1) Remind people when it's time to update the team spreadsheet. (This is the information that I'll use to determine the team standings.) 2) Let me know if there's a problem. (For example, a team member hasn't reported in for two weeks, etc.) When you have selected a team name, let me know and I'll change your thread name. Dee Edited by D001 2009-11-03 8:30 AM |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Hey team! Looking forward to a good November. Just a little background on me, I'm currently building a running base for my first marathon in April 2010. I know some of you are strong runners, so I hope to gleam some inspiration and advice along the way. |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Good morning!! YAY Team! Very excited for the challenge. Good to hear abot you, Tim. Good luck with the marathon. I just did marathon number 5 so my goal is actual to build up the other sports relative to running! For team name - is everyone in the northern hemisphere? - can we go with Fall/Thanksgiving inspired name like Fit Foliage, Leaf-ing it all out there ... heh. okay, maybe I am not the best for picking team names... or we could go with a variation on 4, our team number ... ideas? About me: I am a new triathlete but not new to endurance sports. As mentioned I have run 5 marathons and a whole whack of other long-distance races. I only started less than 5 years ago so i built up from basically zero. I love it all, i am super addicted to exercise-induced endorphins. As for tris, I did my first ones this year, learned to swim from scratch last year and found out just how scared of the deep water I am but I am working on it! Next year I will keep on testing those limits! Mostly my goals are to stick with the winter maintenance plan i've picked. Life can get hairy and with no immediate race goals I am worried I won't get on my bike trainer (boo) or go to the pool. |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Hi Team I have been triathl-ing for 5 years and was new to all the sports back then . I discovered i really like cycling and running on their own and do enough in the water to avoid getting pulled off the course (DNF) by concerned lifeguards. I am proposing Team Phidippides after the famous ancient greece runner My goals are to run and bike a lot and swim once a week

Expert 1104 Canada | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Hey gang, Checking in. Been running for 2 years, with an interruption with a fractured ankle, 1 year ago. My "pledged" plan is run 35k per week, about 140k for Nov. Am continuing to cycle, via spin & exercise bike, during the month. Am also trying to learn to swim & going to the pool for 3-4 hours per week. I have done one du, in Aug. Can't swim adequately, yet. Hopefully, will be able to do this by spring. Good Luck to all. Should be fun PS. I have no idea of a cool name. Leave that to you folks Edited by GoGoGo 2009-10-30 3:33 PM |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Looks like we have some experienced BTers here. Who wants to step up and become our illustrious leader? As for our team name, my right-brain seems to be failing me once again. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Grats on the 4:14 mary Jan. I left my couch and computer games about 2 years ago with no experience in any of the sports. I completed my first mary 9 months ago and my first IM about 3 months ago with a 30k trail run last weekend. I have an upcoming 30k trail run in November and my 2nd marathon in January, so I am run focused with a goal of 125 miles this month. I am hoping that the 2nd open mary is more fun than the first one 8). |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Good see others on the team. So, we officially start tomorrow! :D I don't mind being captain ... i don't think it's too involved. And you all sound pretty keen! Gogogo - welcome to another Canadian! I have been to Nfld once - I went to a wedding in Grand Falls-Windsor and also stayed a few nights at Gros Morne. It's incredibly beautiful there ... lots of moose. |

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Greetings Folks! Jen here, from southern Mississippi. This is our best time of the year for training. I am currently a few weeks into a 20 week training plan for my first marathon on February 28th. My goal will be 50 miles running. I find I don't really need the challenges to actually to motivate me, but I really like the camaraderie that comes from them and that helps to keep me going! I am only a runner for a year and a half and doing tri's for about 10 months now. I have always been active, boating (and rock climbing years ago) biking, hiking, etc., but as I am getting older I find I need too do more to get fit and help keep my sanity. Happy to be working with you all--- especially Karen! |

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge I'll start the challenge off with a local run through the hood, six miles maybe. Want to get home in time to watch the NYC Marathon on Universal Sports. BTW I think a Thanksgiving of Fall themed name would be great as well. |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Good morning! Seems I've made the time-change successfully! Up early for a run. Was thinking about our team name and Van paulus suggested "Team Phidippides" and i thought of a variation, it's cheesy, yes, but what's about "Team Fall-dippides" - for the time of year and such? |

Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: Team 4 - November You-Pick-It Challenge Hi everyone! Another Canuck here. I'm surprised to see so many of us. They must have put us all together . Unlike the rest of my Canadian brothers and sisters I'm in Victoria, BC and most likely wont have to battle the snow to complete the challenge . I'm currently building my volume and aiming to get in 150k this month. I've got a race series starting in Jan and a goal race in April that I'm laying the ground work for. Got in 12k this morning under some beautiful sunshine The winter months are nothing but rain around here so I'll take any sun I can get! |

It was great to see Meb take it and I couldn't believe the woman's race. The 41 year Russian woman looked like she was going to die at any moment over the last few miles. I was so surprised to see her lead the charge to drop Paula. What a crazy running gait she has. Oh and the best quote of the race paraphrased. "I'm not sure why she is falling back. The last mile was a pedestrian 5:50". Right... 5:50 miles is pedestrian. |
