Pre-race routine:

quick breakfast at hotel, oatmeal and coffee
Event warmup:

about a half mile walk to the start, also about 20 minute walk to get to the start line once the race started

Comments:

very crowded race, hard to get into a rhythm trying to dodge and weave around people, very sunny and wram as the day went on, no shade on the track
What would you do differently?:

not much, I got a PR by over 8 minutes, I did struggle a bit the last mile, I also beat my husband by 26 minutes :) (he did a great job!)
Post race
Warm down:

hang out in the park, listen to music, drink free beer, wander back to hte hotel

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the heat and the crowds, but I would highly recommend this race, it is fun and very well organized

Great job Sue!!! Congrats on the PR! We missed you at the Chesapeake Bay 10k, but it sounds like you had a great race.

And yes, nothing beats a post race beer.
