Sorry you had such a bad experience. Mtn biking is something you should practice though, I think it's harder than road riding (more skills needed.)

Glad you didn't get really hurt - we've all come off our bikes at one time or another.

Don't even be discouraged! It sucks getting used to that the first time. I don't go mountain biking that often and went a bit ago, crashed and skidded like you, and seriously wanted to cry because I hurt so badly. I even cracked my helmet on the fall. I did not want to go again because I was freaked out and I hate getting used to things I am not good at. Get back on that mountain bike and just get used to it a bit. You will be OK, just maybe start with some easier trails and don't go balls to the wall next time.
I am going to do Muddy Buddy next year. I know a lot of people do these so i am surprised their course was that out of hand.

Keep that head up!!

I'm sorry you didn't have fun   I hadn't ridden a mountain bike in years...so there were several places I had to get off the bike and walk too.  And I spent most of my time on the bike hoping not to fall off...

You'll crush it next year!

Oh my God...   I thought you did the Andy's tri..  I am sorry to hear that you had such a terrible time in this race.  I hope your bruises are much better now...   when i wrote you earlier and said about having fun while I was on the road, I thought you were doing an actual tri....   this definitly sounds painful and just plain hard...

There is not shame in not finishing....   there will be many other races you will kick butt at.....

Cheers

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it more...I had heard that the one here in the Midwest is a lot of fun so I had thought to do it with my daughter in a few years...guess we'd better hit the trails first.

You should practice practice practice, then go back next year and kick butt
