I was going to post this in the other recent threah about swim caps, but then realized it was really a different topic, so . . . for a guy with relatively short hair, what are the aero (hydro?) benefits of swim cap . . . any?

I wear one in all my swim training. Does it provide some hydrodynamic benefit? Maybe a little. I just do it as part of a train like you race mentality.

What if your swimming form is so poor you'd rather they didn't notice you?

When I was on a competitive swim team (Many, many, many years ago now) several of the guys were Nationally ranked swimmers and had short hair most of the time and still wore swim caps.  Untill it came down to either State or National competitions, then they shaved their heads/bodies and swam without a cap.  Similar to most of the Olympic swimmers also, right?

I prefer wearing a swim cap, I also keep mine over my goggles and over my ears.  It took me a little while to get used to it, but it is how I race and logically it should be more hydrodynamic.
