Pre-race routine:

up at 4:30am, hating the sound of the wind blowing like crazy, had oatmeal and coffee, left for the race at 5:45 with hubby who was running the marathon
Event warmup:

walking to start line, a little jogging, trying to stay warm and out of the darn wind

Comments:

I was not motivated for this race, my body and legs were tired from too many races this past month and I was really hating the wind until it turned into a great tailwind for the last part of the course, just out there to have some fun, had a beer at mile 10 (thank you Hashers!), saw a friend just past mile 10 and we finished the race together
Post race
Warm down:

into the tent for post race beer and Irish stew, went out to the finish line to see the marathoners finish, my husband had a PR :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

too many races lately; very tired legs today

Event comments:

this race is well organized and lots of fun; I've done one of the races here every year for the past four years

You may not have been very motivated, but it looks like you had a good time.  More importantly, you finished, despite the horrible winds for the first half.  Good job!

Great race!! More amazing....considering you did a race the day before no wonder your legs are tired!

Glad the wind was at your back for the end!

Hey great way to hang in there Sue.  I know what you mean about the wind and about too much racing.  Let's go lie on the beach somewhere and take a coupla weeks off!
