Subject: Shipping a bike - Europe
I am doing Ironman Zurich this summer but have a two weeks of touring Europe after the fact. I've contacted Air Canada about shipping my bike home from Zurich so I don't have to lug it around when I don't need it but they seem unwilling to help me.

Does anyone know of a way to ship a bike from Europe without accompanying it? Also, not crazy expensive.

Any help would be super fantastic.

I used Nirvana Europe for my travel arrangements to Zurich 2012. They now advertise a ship to and from your hotel door service from the US. I have not used this service, but cannot speak highly enough of the other services they provided on my Euro Ironman adventures. I dragged my bike along on Lufthansa and stayed in the same Hotel while touring. BTW you are in for a real treat - what a great experience. Enjoy Heartbreak Hill and The Beast!

I used Luggage Forward to ship my bike back from IM Switzerland last year. Not cheap but great service and easy to use.

I stored my bike in a Swiss train station for 2 weeks last summer after a race, then took it home on my flight. Many European train stations have a "left luggage" room for long term storage. It was much cheaper than shipping the bike home.
