I have a Javelin Arcole that has a mix of Dura Ace and Ultegra that broke yesterday and I'm not sure if it can be fixed or if it will be too costly. I can't afford a new bike so I'm looking at other options. I would like to get a small frame (48 cm, I'm 5'3") and transfer the parts. I would need a frame that fits 650 wheels. However, I would consider a whole bike at the right price. Please let me know if you have anything that fits the bill!

We have this bike for sale on our website: https://www.mybikeshop.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=kilo&product_id=373

We also just received a small 2002 Kestrel Airfoil KM40 with an upgraded profile design cockpit, newer 7900 series dura ace components (full) and a wired powertap laced to Mavic CXP33 wheels. Selling this for $750. The wheels are 650c. I do not have pics of that bike yet.

Thanks.

brian

DH (also a BT'er) has a Cervelo One that's in great shape with very low mileage.  I don't know all the deets but I know it's 48 cm and he's selling it for $400 but would consider offers.  He's busy at work so I'm just putting that out there.  He told me he'd contact you when he has a minute.

Not sure what your budget would be....but I have a perfect bike for you. It is a small (48) Griffen Boron Carbide Aluminum frame with a Profile carbon aero fork. This is a 650c bike and is fully built and ready to race. It has 650c Carbon Spinergy wheels. I've only raced this thing twice and love it...but have 3 TT bikes and one needs to go.

I built this up with some parts I had off of another frame I sold, but they are in excellent condition and will give you many years of use. If you need more info please let me know. Hopefully the pictures show....if not let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

$1,200 and it is in Phoenix, AZ

Also...I fix carbon bikes so might be able to help out on your Javelin...if the broken part is a carbon part (maybe a seat or chain stay?). If it is in the Aluminum...repairs are not really possible without heat treating the frame again....costly.

Matt

Wow mattradz, that's a cool bike. I did get the Javelin fixed but I'm still curious about the Griffen. What are the components (Dura Ace, Ultegra, 105) and how does the bike ride (better than aluminum, carbon fiber)?

Thank you, but I got my bike repaired and I'm going to save my money for a new bike!

I am in the process of buying my first tri bike. Because of my size my fitter suggested buying a custom frame but then I have an infinite number of choices for components, wheels, aerobars, etc.

After I left the running store, I couldn't stop thinking about the sprint tri and how much of a challenge it would be for me. So instead of joining a gym, I started riding my bike and it felt great.
