Good morning BT!

4:30am:  :50 minutes on the trainer, easy Z2...as my coach said--getting the legs ready for this week's load...

5:30am:  5X5 strong lift

Later at 5pm:  teaching kids bootcamp

Here's to a great training week!  We're finally going to get above freezing this week so I'm hoping I'll be able to get out to Blue Lake by Sunday!  Have a great day!

Oh, Karen...glad you made it back home safe and sound!

Winter needs to be over!

Drove 15 miles to the pool in the snow and ice (must be dedicated?) and knocked out 3100 m of various drills.

Have a great day!

"Getting the legs ready" LOL! I think I did that one on Sunday.

60 minute trainer ride with a bunch of nasty big-gear workout followed by a 30 minute brick run that felt like...a brick. Normally for some reason after big-gear stuff I feel really good when running; that was sure not the case yesterday. I think my body is still traumatized from sitting in economy class for 17 hours.

80's and sunny here! Good to see--rainy season outstayed its welcome by over a month. Saigon's almost bearable (usually) from now till mid or late February, then the oven temps start. Teacher work day yesterday; kids start back today.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
