Good morning BT!

4:30am:  1:30 on the trainer, felt fabulous.  Main set was alternating 6X6:00 intervals, big gear & zone 3/4 stuff.  Hard but satisfying!

Later at 5:00pm:  Kids bootcamp

Dennis...let us know your MRI results!

Have a great day!

90 minute run scheduled this afternoon with 20 minutes at 10K effort.

Trying to get workouts in early today as Dad is coming for a visit and will need to adjust workouts around his visit.

Have a great Thursday!

Good news! No tears shown in MRI. Dr did recommended a shot and physical therapy though.

No planned workouts today.

Have a good day folks!

Morning!
Cloudy, cool and some sprinkles - supposed to rain all weekend. Weird for AZ but I LOVE it!

5:15am - 60 min power spin - focusing on hard burst efforts at the end of each 5 min set. I called it "Closing the Gap".

8am - 1600yd swim. Trying to get back to swim after letting my shoulder rest. Just lots and lots and lots of drills...but shoulder felt good!

It's a beautiful day here on this Confederate Heroes Day (yes, this is a state holiday in Texas, and yes, it is bs). It also means my office is a ghost town.

11:50 - 50' strength

Have a great one.

Definitely lots of work....

5 AM: 1:15 trainer ride with VO2 max intervals (sob, whimper...)
4:30 PM; 3000m of swimming, mostly pull sets, some of them with the evil "band" (Pulling with zero buoyancy, basically. Or more like trying not to drown!)

Slept well last night! (Friday morning here now.)

Snuck in a 4 mile run on the dark dark trails after work tonight. Felt great though. Night everybody

My trouble is this: I work overnights, 11pm-7am. How many hours should I keep between workouts? What constitutes a 'day'? How does rearranging days affect the overall plans?

Triathlon is more than just three sports. For most of us it includes the real world of work, family and a host of other obligations. Only one problem: when and how much sleep should we get?

Improving speed in swimming is more than just doing a few sprints at the beginning and end of your workouts. It takes a little more thinking, but I promise there is no high level math involved!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.

One way to improve your speed is to do track work that totals the time and distance goal. The idea is to slowly condition your body to be comfortable at your goal pace.

Well its the middle of winter and there is 5 inches of snow on the ground and I am too cheap to buy a gym membership and take spinning classes, so what do I do?
