Subject: RE: Poetry Thursday on Friday?Humanity
My grey house in the suburbs
stands in the middle of grass
greener than a stormy sky.
My children, healthy and strong,
return from school like the tide
bombards the jagged coastline of Oregon.
My husband calls me from work,
his voice soft and excited from the prospect
of Dish Network instead of cable television.
And through these wonders my mind
chooses to lament the time split
of my last half-marathon. |
