Considering this as my first 1/2. Did full marathon last week. Working on swimming (did 1.2 mile yesterday with a short run after). Am completely clueless on bike. Bought one and have done like 15 miles around the house. Have done a few spin classes. Am I going to be able to do a 56 mile in 7 weeks? Whatdya think? How much bike training per week would you recommend? How much could be on a trainer vs outside? Thoughts? Can you do it? I think so - but you are going to have to commit to putting a** in saddle and spending a lot of time there over the next few weeks!! Outside vs. trainer - I am still getting 1/2 my mileage inside at this time of year because of weather, indoor training is mostly quality work - intervals of power work, while outdoor work is endurance building with a little bit of speed thrown in. Without your logs to see, I would say find yourself a plan, or a coach and jump in at 7 weeks out - you'll know in about two weeks if it's too much. Good luck!! |
