The Original ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() history will be made. Mark your calendars! I just wanted everyone to be aware of the situation that is going to take place soon. In 36 days, I will be turning 29 on the 29th of September. You may be asking- what's the big deal, who cares? It' just another BT b-day. But I must say, this is a special birthday becasue I will be 29 on the 29th! Get it? There's no other day in the history of mankind that I will ever be turning an age on the same day as my b-day. So...I ask that all of you join me in the special event and celebrate history with me. It's going to be called "29 on the 29th". And...in honor of this special day, I am asking all BT'ers to cycle 29 miles on Spetember 29th. I am letting you know now so you can go ahead and squeeze this into your training program, plan your social events for the night around your 29 mile ride, or start training now so that in 36 days you can cycle 29 miles! I am going to start a list of everyone who will cycle 29 miles on the 29th to celebrate my 29th b-day so please let me know if you wish to celbrate this special day- it would mean so much to mean...gulp, sniff, sniff... |

Sadly, I missed my oportunity to have a similar celebration. My birthday is on the 1st, and that was about 34.5 years ago. I don't know if I'll be able to join in the 29 mile celebration, as I may have to work that day... |

Cycling 29 miles or drinking 29 beers whichever fits best into your training schedule What about 29 push-ups? Or pull-ups, that's a bit harder. I have a race 3 days later so I'll be in mid taper. And isn't the birthday that you turn the year that matches the day your "golden" birthday? You gotta guilt someone into buying you a gold tri-pendant or something along those lines. I got hosed, I was born on the 1st and my parents totally cheapskated out on me and just got me some stuffed animals and cake that I fell asleep into. bts |

Queen BTich ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was going to suggest 29 Chipotles!! I will of course ride 29 miles on your b-day Janelle, and then of course go to Chipotle. Maybe some other Atlantans will join me. * ATTENTION * ATTENTION EVERYONE * My b-day is in a week & 1/2....its on the 6th. So, not as cool since I would have been 6 on the 6th, but its still going to be my b-day. |

Queen BTich ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() We can pick a day when you can drive to Atlanta and we can have a joint "Single tri girl alone on their birthday" birthday dinner. Somewhere nice or chipotle. I'm flexible. |

The Original![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Chris Tree - 2005-08-25 9:04 AM Shouldn't you have 29 BTers riding 29miles on your 29th birthday on September 29th??? Just to keep things, you know, 29! Oooh- I like. Even better. Ok- so my original plan is evolving. Only the first 29 BT'ers responding to this have the opportunity to be part of the "29 on the 29th" club. Here's the deal. After receving feedback from my fellow BT'ers (whom I greatly value their opinion) I have changed the stipulations and entry requirements into my club. So... here goes. I can only accept 29 participants. If you cycle 29 miles (which was the original idea so I'm sticking with that) then on the 29th to honor my specail day, you will become a "Gold" member of the club, since it's my golden year. If you chose to do something else (such as drink 29 beers like Max has propsed, or do 29 situps, pullups, reps of weight, 29 yards of swimming, drink 29 oz of water, etc) then you will just be a normal member. Yo uwon't have thee status of the gold members, but you'll still have a better status thant he average Joe. However, if you eat 29 burritos on the 29th of September, you'll be a gold member AND receive a special burrito related gift from me that I will personalize just for you. Ok...let's start over and let the sign up begin. Make sure to let me know how you plan to represent the #29! |

I promise not try and set you up with someone that you have already been set up with.HAHAHA For those that don't want to ride we can give them this flag..... The Original![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ok- here's the list so far. The names in red are the people I have full information from. There's a few others that said they would do it, but didn't tell me if they wanted to cycle, eat burritos, drink beers, or whatever. So I'll just need confirmation from the following on which activity you choose: (First_Time_Tri, Max, and Brett) There are 23 spots left- hurry up before they fill up!! 1. TriComet- cycle 29 miles 2. Tri-Pirate- cycle 29 miles 3. Bear- cycle 29.29 miles 4. First_Time_Tri- ??? 5. Brett- ? 6. Max- drink 29 beers? |

I think I'll keep it simple- I don't think the soon-to-be b-day girl should have to put much time into this since it's such a special occasion. So... the perk to the gold club is bragging rights. And maybe after the big event, everyone in the club can change their sig lines to something catchy like "I'm gold and you're not!" What an honor that would be?? Glad you like my sig. line! It's a great verse and apparently a popular one! My friend gave that one to me when I signed up for my first tri ever, because I was freaked out about having to do an OWS in the ocean. It's very comforting |
