Ironman Arizona 2014 : Official Thread

im going I waited in the long line...

I'll be there for my first IM. I lucked out and got one of the Speedpass bracelets from my volunteer shift so I was in and out in 20 minutes!

Lucky for me I got in online from a computer in Kosovo.

I'm IN - 4th consecutive IM AZ for me.

I'm in. My first IM. I volunteered at sign up and signed up! (and signed up hundreds of others)

Me! This will be my second Ironman. My first was Florida in 2012.

This will be my first.. Super excited!

Anyone have any info on volunteer sign up?

Volunteer sign up for the 2013 race opened on July 1, 2013. My guess is that they operate in a similar fashion this year.

For many of us....and likely for many who want to participate in 2015, that sign up is the first step toward "Becoming an Ironman!"

I did IMAZ in 2012 and can't wait to tackle the course again.
About a week ago I had my first IM dream.....no bike, no running shoes. I think my subconcious was telling me to start training!! Happy New year to all and looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next year!

I'm in. First Ironman.

I'm in for the third year in a row. This might be my last year for AZ, it's been fun and a nice little vacation for the family, but I think I'll try for Florida for 2015, just want to try differant courses.

No complaints on this one.

I'm also doing Boulder, so I'll probably peak for that, then do some kind of maintenance program, who knows.

Maybe third time will be a charm?

Anyone have any interesting stories on this period of base building? Or, maybe ya'll are doing more than base building?

Was commenting to my wife the other day - she's also doing IMAZ - that I don't "feel like" an Ironman yet. It's a good thing - of maybe THAT'S WHY - we still have 10 months to train!

I'm fighting the feeling of being behind...so like I should be doing more than I am right now. But, trying to balance that with the fear of burnout at exactly the wrong time.

Had a great run today - the best in 6 months for me. Not far....not fast....but still felt GREAT to be out there. 50+ in Colorado in January always helps the endorphins become more active, too!
