Ok, yearly tri is Sunday. Been doing more (still not much) running and not much if any biking. So Plan was to do a brick, today. Out on the course playing with keeping a high cadence, things going well then something feels wrong, a minute later pphhhtttt FLAT... Well I am about quarter mile from the car, have the stuff to change it on me but its a rear, Its after work and Im hungry. So I take off the bike shoes and walk back to the car and bag it till tomorrow.

Of course now I have blisters on the balls of both feet.

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH.

over, time to go change a flat and clean up the drivertrain, it wasn't shifting great.

I agree, a lot easier changing the tires than walking back.

x2

Also easier than competing with blisters on your feet.  Hope you heal quick.

It is generally the rear that flats the most. Yeah, more painful than changing out the front tube, but could have avoided walking in bike shoes.

Hope your blisters clear up before Sunday.

You had the resources but didn't change the tire because it was the rear?

Then you got blisters from walking all of 1/4 mile?

I think a double HTFU is warranted here.

Cool

Sever. weeks ago I was riding over lunch and got a major blowout with about a half mile to go.  The blowout was about 1"x.25" and there was no way for me to repair it.  I walked back to work and bought Kevlar reinforced tires.  I take my phone with me on all my rides now.
