So the 808's are like $2300 a set, what is a less expensive alternative to the Zipp 808's?

Thanks in Advance.

Chris

Just get a front and a disc cover for the rear.

Used 808's ...

In all seriousness, I just bought a pair of 2007 Zipp 606 clinchers in perfect condition for >$1300.  People tend to baby their race wheels and not ride use them often.  That means that the average wheel only sees "race distances" ... even if they raced the stew out of the previous year, it would be hard to clock more than 500 mi for the wheel set.

Buyer beware, though, there are a number of complications that can happen to carbon fiber wheel sets (cracks around the spokes is a common one).  If you can, use e-Bay as a pricing guideline and buy locally?

At prowheelbuilder.com you can get a set of Flashpoint 80's which are non-dimpled 808's for $1,100 with a $100 credit back. You get one year warranty. Hard to find a better deal. Look under the custom wheelset build.

Edge 85's. Solid wheels and are WAY cheaper than Zipp 808's. $700 for the set.
