My training/racing partner are thinking about take a 3 day weekend in May and Friday do 2.4 mile swim, saturday 112 mile bike and sunday 26.2 mile run. Thoughts, comments, stupid, any feedback is appreciated. a 26.2 mi training run is a BAD IDEA imo. it will take you a while to recover from it [it takes me about 2 weeks to recover from a marathon]. You'll miss too much training while recovering and aside from that it's not necessary... most IM training plans don't have longer than 18 mi. the 2.4 mi swim and 112 mi bike are a good idea though... nice to get a feel for the water and there is no such thing as too much time in the saddle ! |
