Subject: A big "hey, y'all!" from GeorgiaI've been "lurking" around here long enough. About three months ago I researched triathlons on google and this site popped up. I was desperate for info, still am, still finding it here! I finished my first sprint on Aug. 20 in Cordele, GA. Great first tri - not too crowded, I didn't drown, and I'm hooked.
I've been reading other "lurking" threads, and unlike most everybody else, swimming is not my biggest problem, although I did use breast stroke for 2/3 of my first tri. I'd say probably my weakest spots right now are running speed and learning to bike all over again. I have no trouble staying on - it's when to change gears, what gears to switch to that's giving me a hard time.
I've heard that joining a group is great motivation, but that's probably one of my greatest fears. There's a tri group at the University of Georgia, where I work, but I'm not a college student anymore (I just turned 27 and graduation was so five years ago ) Plus, when people mention 25-mile bike rides I wonder at which spot in the road I'll collapse.
Also, how do y'all stay motivated over the off season?
So, that's me. And one more thing: GO DAWGS! |
