Hi everyone,
I've been lurking today after stumbling across a link to this board. It looks like a great group of people here. I set out training for try 3 weeks ago, but I have lots of cycling and swim experience, so it's the running that is killing me so far. My original goal was a sprint in Sept., but I feel if the running keeps improving without overtraining I'll be able to give my first race report in July, even if I do finish last! Even being here feels like an accomplishment, Feb 03 I was a 245lb couch potato, I got down my goal of 170 with diet/execise, new goal = finish 2 sprints this year.

Welcome! Great goals! You'll get used to the running. It is a great stress reliever too! :-)

I'm anxious to hear how your upcoming races go!

Hey Jeremy! Welcome to the site and congrats on your weight loss and training so far! Good to have you! Running is also the bane of my training, so I can sympathize with you there!
