Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking for a while and am finally saying hi. This is my first season of doing triathlons (I did one Olympic distance race last fall). I love reading some of the posts from everyone . . . some really great info (and I'm glad to see some people are as addicted to tri's as me!!) As for races, my "target" race is the Great White North Triathlon . . . it's a Half IM outside Edmonton in July.

PS. The name "Whiskeyman" came from a guy at work who found out I used to be a sales rep for a Rum company -- he thought Rum-man didn't have a decent ring and the rest, as they say . . .

Hey Whiskeyman, Thats great that you got into the GWNT it is a great race.

I missed the sign up so I am doing my first 1/2 in Aug.

It's called the oilman it is also just outside of Edm.

Good luck on your training, you will love that race it is very well organized.

I Volunteered for it last year.

Hi Grant, great to meet a fellow BC'er. I'm in Port Hardy, north end of Van. Island. I started tri training in Jan and will do my first sprint in August. Will do Parksville (My First Tri) and possibly one in Vancouver (DIVA) or one in Victoria. Welcome to the site. Good luck on your training and your tri!!!
