Elite  4564    Boise |  Subject: IT question (email related)So I got a new computer at work and I need to transfer all of my emails. I called our corporate help desk and they transferred my emails. Somehow a bunch of important emails didn't transfer. I got all of the folders they were categorized by but a bunch of the folders are just empty. I'm tired of dealing with them. Can anyone tell me how to transfer specific email folders from outlook 2003 to my new outlook 2010? My emails are on the Microsoft exchange if that mattters. |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: IT question (email related) With Outlook the easiest way to do it is to create a local PST file as was mentioned. I did a quick youtube search here for the directions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdsX0CTEdzM basically a pst file is a local mail folder for your email. Once you create the pst it will be just like any other folder in outlook, so you just take your old folders/emails and copy them into the pst file. Then you close the old email program and open your new email and open the same local pst file. You then copy them from the local pst file to a folder in your exchange account. We do a lot of email migration as a business and this is exactly how we do it. Trying to do it at the server level is wrought with peril. |

Pro 4909 Hailey, ID | Subject: RE: IT question (email related) Yeah Exchange is all server based. Probably when you were missing them earlier they were still downloading from the server. Once that went on for a few hours you were fine.  |

I deleted the empty folders and brought over all of the old ones. |

We got our first skiff of the year I like to call up the IT guys and say I can't connect my network printer and then give them the wrong IP address so they spend a lot of time trying to figure it out! No snow just lots of rain down here. |
