Good morning Peeps!

4:45am:  30 minute recovery run

5:15am:  :45 minutes 5X5 squats, deadlifts, bench, pushups.  My coach suggested a different mix so I'm giving it a go!

Burchib...where in ND?!  I grew up in Bismarck--I KNOW that kind of cold!

Jamie, thanks on the hair!  The blue afro definitely would have given me some street cred on the clown circuit, but for now I'll stick with some blonde!

Love seeing some new posters!!! Keep on postin!

Today I am heading 120 miles west to renew my license (been expired for months and months) and do some shopping. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but last year I started paying myself $1.00 for every mile I run or ride each workout.  I hadn't checked if for a while so I dug into my piggy bank and I'll be darned if I don't have $423!  Doing some ME shopping today!

Have a great day!

So far in front of me yet again. Heading to the pool in a bit. Looks like it might do some serious raining though. In for at least 4K. Riding to and from pool, and will Chipotle for lunch as well on the return from the pool.

Going to walk an hour on the treadmill as well. Maybe 3mph at 8-10% grade. Might spin on the bike later today on the trainer while I do some work.

Thomas G, why, as a pro, are you going to walk for an hour? Serious question, not going all ST on you.
For me, later today, going for a swim, 1500-200meters. Just getting back in the pool.

yay I remembered to log in :-)!

5:30am - took the dog for a 5 mile run.

8:45am - 25 min ST circuit
9:30am - 45 min spin

Typical Monday, other than having to get home sooner as my kids are home on Winter Break until January. Must be efficient with the workouts!

20 mile bike ride. Now off to the dentist for a cleaning. Yeah!

Scheduled to see the orthopedic 1st week in Jan for knee issue. Hope it's not serious.

Maybe Thomas G. is injured, or recovering from an IM? Even the pros aren't immune to pain and fatigue!

Here, just 3K in the pool, main set was 18 X 100m. Outdoor pool in 33 degree rain. (Should be obvious I am back in Oregon, not in Saigon now!) The hardest part was getting out the door!

We had a big ice storm last Wednesday that took down tons of trees, branches, and power lines, and I was seriously wondering if there might be a tree in the pool. There are some big old Douglas firs between the pool and the parking lot; substantial pieces of those trees have come down into the pool in previous storms. One large tree down in the parking lot; but, thank goodness, none in the pool. Whatever branches had fallen in had been taken out!

I'll let TG answer, but I know many that do this to....

Stay moving/be active
Incorporate low intensity work
Recover from season long fatigue and maintain longevity for career

People greatly underestimate the value of walking. Too many run too fast for their easy runs IMO.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
