I've got it bad but I have my limits. I won't:

1) shave below my neck
2) name my bike
3) put a balloon on the bike rack

Hey, it's friday, had some cocktails last night and this terror alert has made me a little edgy

Thank goodness most races don't allow this otherwise it would look like a 3 year olds birthday in transition!

Dropped in to see Haley's list. Should have figured there would be nothing on it.

Swim in a wetsuit.

Become obsessive about training or tri'ing.

The only thing I will never do.......is to say that I'll never do something.

I have found myself doing some surprising thing (for me)

  • swimming
  • eating blue cheese
  • driving an ugly car
  • shaving below the neck
  • dancing when not drunk

There are somethings that I wold be surprized to find myself doing, but as I get older I am finding that surprises are not as surprising as they used to be.

- Win my age group
- Stop shaving my legs

Things I swore I'd never do which I now do regularly:
- Shave my legs
- Use a skin care "regimen" (I'll admit it: I'm vain and the wrinkles were starting to piss me off)

Don't mind if I do!

re Guys with shaved legs -- the legs look AWESOME. I really hate it when guys have nicer legs than me, but I have to give respect to it nontheless. Also, there is something really nice about crawling into bed when you both have smoothly just shaved legs...

Also, learning the techniques of shaving and loofahing and lotioning ones legs -- good knowledge, and makes one much more sympathetic to how long chicks showers can be. Precision shaving takes time!

Manscaping in other areas: Um...everything looks bigger. It just does.

Also, I hear it helps with road rash. (the legs).

allright I figured the shaving thing would get everyone all lathered up (pun intended) but how about the bike naming thing. I just don't get. I understand "aint she a beauty?' but actually naming it? Do you tuck it in before you put it to bed too?

Guess I'm looking for fight today (told you I was in a bad mood!)

OK.

If you spend a lot of time with even an inanimate object you can develop an emotional attachment. Naming said item helps personify and increase that attachment.

Try it (the "spending a lot of time with your bike" thing) and see if it doesn't hold true.

Checking my logs again Bear? That is a lot time, all things being relative. lol

Ya know in my youth I named a certain body part that I spent a lot of time with. Guess I could revert back... to the naming of objects not the spending a lot of time together part !

When I first saw the title of the thread I was kinda worried that this would end up having to do with a disturbing combination of goats, cousins, glass shards, broom handles and hillbillies. I was relieved to see that I was wrong.

You've never named a possession (besides animals)? Not a car? Security blanket? Rifle (I know a lot of Marines)?

Looking at your training log it's not just swimming in a wetsuit that you won't do.  Open water swimming, swimming in a pool, swimming in any body of water, the list goes on....

Well Brett if that was the case I would've put an OT in front of it or put it in the cup o joe

as to the rest:
car - don't think "rust bucket" counts
Blanket - wife calls em "woobies", don't remember feeling particulary close to one myself tho.
Rifle - had a bb gun once. put out some bread and shot bird. My father didn't think it was very good sportsmanship. gave me a good whoopin and took the gun. I remember calling it something but I don't think it was endearing!

I hadn't, but now I understand. Your bike does have a name, you just haven't spent enough time with her to learn it.

I was about to say the only thing I won't do is say that there is something I won't do (or at least consider- athletically related you sicko's ).  Then I saw the other thread-

I won't swim in a red tide.  Anything that kills things that live in the water is good enough reason for me to stay out of it.
