I know it is early, but it is only going to get harder to fit the swims in once the holidays hit. And as MAtriMom said, "...we are SO, WAY MUCH better than the other teams...no excuses." So go hit the pool and get those averages up

Happy swimming!

Yeah, what they said !

Actually I think we're doing a little better than the numbers show - those were the totals as of 12/4 and a lot of the team has been doing some good work this week. Also, some of the people aren't logging their workouts, so I had to submit them as zero.

We New Englanders are a steady, persevering bunch, so I have no doubt we will prevail...

Hey POOLtriots,
I'm on the comeback trail after two set-backs:
**Trip to Seattle Dec 3-8 (read: no pool access)
**Pool closed today for H.S. swim meet (so I'd carried my goggles around with me all day for nothing!)

I did, however, swim 4,000 yrd in the last week of November, so I know I'm capable of my goal.  It just takes 2x2,000 yd workouts each week, which I should be able to make or exceed fairly easily.  Plus I have no other Christmas travel plans for the month, so I'll be swimming strong assuming that the pool stays open...

In short, I've got 16,000 planned for December, and I'll do every last one of those laps!!

Cheers, -Sunny

How's everyone doin'?

I'm getting my distance in but I swear the more time I spend din the pool the slower I get. Guess I'll just use this month as a base builder.

I'm getting in the pool more, and I have bad news and good news.

The bad news is I'll be away from Saturday to Tuesday........

The good news is I'll be St. John, US Virgin Islands, and will do lots of open water swimming!  Woo hoo!!!! Eat your heart out!  But I'll probably get my yards in there.

My pool has been closed, so I'm going to the Y this week to get some more yardage. I had also planned on having my goal met by the 23rd, but because of the pool closing setback I think I'll be doing some swims after Christmas. I will hit that goal.

Dang, that's TOO WONDERFUL for words...I can only Dream of open water, warm water swimming!

Instead, I carry on here in frigid MA at the indoor chlorine tank.

Today:  Another 2,100 for me getting me to 4,200, which is just past 25% of my 16,000 goal.

Cheers, -Sunny

It is not quite the middle of the month. As of todays swim I am 50 yards over 50% of my goal.

How are we doing Pooltriots?

Who's on track for 50% or better of your goal by Friday?

I'm at 9,050 out of 20,000. I plan on a 2,000-2,500 tomorrow am which is the half way point so I will be well over 50% done.

I've gotten all my swims in so far, 12,500 yards.

My goal is 25,250 so I still have a way to go.

I'm at 6300 yards so I'm little over 1/2 way there.  I'll be swimming tomorrow as long as the roads aren't a total mess.

Go POOLtriots!!!! I don't want to be displaying an @$$ for my avitar in January.

I'm way behind ....I was sick and missed many workouts over the course of the first two weeks. Who wants some coughing up half a lung in the pool? I did get three workouts in this week and did my first ever swim during lunch. I still have 10,200 yds to do. My left shoulder is acting up like last year...if it gets worse I'll be off swimming for awhile.

Cool thing, I swam my first 50 yds under a minute tonight! It seems when I don't swim for maybe a week the second or third swim back is when I get faster...weird.

Seriously I normally swim 1200 yds or so which means 8.5 swims for the rest of the month. Normal week is 3. If I do 1500 yds I need 6.8 more swims. I think I need to plan my time better and spend a bit more time at the pool each workout. With five kids, year end at work, it is going to be tough for me to make it.
