First, welcome to BT!

As to which is better?  There are none that are "better" per se, there are just ones that people are more comfortable with.

The spd cleats are smaller, but if you are not careful can get stuff stuck in them easily while running through transition.  But that also goes for the Look models.

I use Speedplays personally which are two sided for clipping in, which makes it a no brainer as you do not have to sit there and flip your pedal over to get in.  But those cleats are even more notorious for trapping dirt.  I also prefer the full float however, so I am fine using them.

I started off using SPD's but found that I developed hot spots on the bottom of my feet with them.  Switched to SPD-SL's (similar to Looks) and like them a lot better.  The larger cleat area has eliminated the hot spots, and I find that they're easier to clip into.  I use the yellow version with 60 of float.

I started with speedplays and switched to Looks. I like the bigger platform. Much more comfortable IMHO.

Uhum .... Speedplay's have a larger platform ..........

(You have to look at the whole pedal/cleat mechanism to understand that part).

I still love my shimano's for the fact that they are great for running in, and well are good pedals too. As far as running in cycling shoes go, that is.

I know that's the case if you take them both into account however my feet feel WAY different in the looks. FEELS like it's a bigger platform. It felt like I was just on that little round disk. My feet don't understand that concept, I just had to go with what my feet thought
