I usually do a OWS on the weekend at Canyon Lake with some friends from AZ Tri Club. You are welcome to join us. Lately we have been swimming at 10am on Sundays.

They are using Meetup.com groups to send out training times.

Here's the info on the LTF Swim Club OWS, which is open to all athletes (you don't have to be a Lifetime Fitness member).

LTF Tempe Swim Club - Saguaro Lake Open Water Swim (All Welcome!)

When: Saturday July 25th

Where: Car Poolers Meet Ahwatukee Foothills YMCA at 4:30am. We will drive up to the lake from the YMCA

Route: Keyhole Cove to Butcher Jones Cove and Back again...

Duration: ~1.25 hours

Goggles Down: 5:45am (Beat the boats!)

Swim Lead: Steve Elwell

LTF TEMPE swim club lead

602-499-1133 cell

[email protected]

*** Do Not forget that you need a tonto pass if you wish to park at the lake... search "tonto pass" on google to find local retailers that sell passes.

Post swim alternatives from Keyhole Cove:

Run - We'll do a 5 mile road / trail run through Saguaro Lake Ranch and back again. Steve will lead the way.

Bring fluids because it's going to be HOT. Run time will be ~ 1 hour.

Ride: Dan McNeil and Stan Goldstein plan to ride out of Saguaro Lake area and do a ~3 hour ride after

the swim. Contact Stan [email protected] for more detail.

Kim, do they do this every weekend? Can you keep me posted on the next OWS? That sounds great for me but I already have plans this weekend. Thx, Sally

I don't think it's every weekend, so if you're interested, it's probably best to contact Steve [email protected] and get on his e-mail list.
