Subject: overuse injury for lack of a better termHello! The last three weeks leading up to my June 11 HIM I started dealing with pain in my right hip/quad. I continued to run through it-it would be sore at beginning of a run but would warm up and be fine. Now that I've done the HIM I really want to get my leg feeling better. The pain occurs as my right leg strides forward and my weight is put on it as my foot contacts the ground. The pain is centered in my upper quad/hip. There is no knee pain at all & zero pain when cycling--just sharp pain with weight bearing motion like walking, running, going up stairs without support. Any ideas what kindof injury I'm dealing with? Should i focus on strengthening my hip flexors? How long should i give it before I start running on it again? Thanksfor any advice/insights! |
