Good morning Ghoulies!

So... my husband has worked at the college for something like 25 years. 20 or so of that has been doing the job he has now in the computing department. He has been offered different jobs at the college throughout his career, but has always declined them. He told me yesterday there is someone leaving from the systems/network team, and he spoke to his boss about filling that position. His boss is the boss over his current, and the open position. He said he feels like his desktop job could be eventually phased out, or outsourced, and his abilities could be put to use on the server team. His boss liked the idea. We shall see where it goes from here.

Thanks Ann, for the new thread.  Sounds like big changes ahead for your husband.  Would this change his work schedule?

Good morning, Dee.

This would actually be good for his schedule. Right now he works a SHIFT, and has to take a mandatory lunch that he always works though anyway. He would no longer be Support Staff, and he'd be an administrator. As long as he gets his 40 hours in the when isn't super important. He would occassionally be on-call, but like me, can handle most situations from home without actually going in. He would also be able to adjust his schedule so when the kids have after school sports that games start at 4:00, he could be there. He has to stay there for 12 more years, because he has a great tuition benefit and that's when Keri should be done with college. It really would be a good move for him. He would have some learning to do, but he has experience, and he'd figure it out.

Sounds really good!  Hope it all works out smoothly for him!

Hi, Dee. There's a different thread. Robin started a World Domination thread. It has a better name, so we were going to use that one.
