Too late. That was the FIRST post in the bike team's thread. LOL

They may vote for "Team We Heart T.I.T.S." though. (That's the current suggestion. It's got that Valentine's Day theme going on. LOL)

Hey, I'm a fat girl from North Dakota, and I'd like to join your team; is that ok?

I did a 20 mile training run last summer; I was in the best shape of my life two years ago. Then we moved to the north country (which I love, by the way), and I put on 30 pounds, 10 of which I have lost.

A friend of mine has asked me to do the Trestle Valley Marathon with her at the end of April. The joy of running has been gone for awhile, and it is WORK to get on the treadmill, but I can't keep being a non-runner.

So do you have room for another or should I go to a newbie thread?

Thanks,

Danielle

Welcome to the Lemmings. We don't have any fat people on this team.... only Athenas and Clysdales

There are at least a couple of us getting ready for spring marathons, so I think you're on the right team. Last month, we were the hard core running team.

Hi Danielle,

Where are you from in North Dakota?  I was born in Bismark and have lots of relatives in the Land of Snow and Ice

Like the name. This is my first challenge. Since they are letting me count elliptical miles, I might have to up my goal for the month.

Hey everyone. This is my first challenge, so don't let me slack off, although you probably have to worry about Jeff417 slacking off more than me. I'm getting ready for my first marathon on May 4. Thought the run challenge would be a great way to stay motivated to crank out the miles in this cold Nebraska winter we are having. Hope everyone's training is going well.

LEMINGS We're going over the cliff again...

72.5 for the month for me with two triathlons in the mix just to make it interesting.  I left my flippers at the pool which sucks because it's RAINING and I'd like to use them on my run since my Bowie's Flat route is currently underwater...  I guess that's what happen when you run on a jetty/pontoon that's in a pond...

No kms for me yet.  Waiting for the rain to leave so I can get some kms in this arvo

My opinion is that as long as we know you're planning on doing this, it's ok.

For example, say "Jane" asks if she can count elliptical miles. That means (to me), that this is a planned part of their goal. To me, "run" is how you define it. (Same is true of the bike and swim. Some people count swim drills. Others don't. It's all in how they plan their goal.)

Basically, (to me again,) the purpose of a Challenge is to get people off the couch and doing something. So if "elliptical work" is important to them, and they calculate their goal to include it, then yes, they can count their progress with it.

Um. Did that make any sense? LOL

In other words - if you plan a "run goal" that includes your elliptical time, it counts.

Hey all -
Guess I was named team captain. So, I guess I'm going to have get on your butts to get out there and run and update the spreadsheet.

Now, what's the story about "LEMings"?

I'm trying to be consistent this year and run 100 mi each of the 12 months. January was 100.5, so I cut that one close. I've been fighting off some injuries issues so I've been struggling with my long runs. I'm hoping this challenge will help me keep my focus.

Walt (0 miles so far for the month...ooops)

As a team just let me know if I can count my elliptical miles or not. Either way is no big deal. It's just that I work 24 hour shifts every third day and I would rather spend time on the elliptical than the dreadmill. Let me know what the consensus is and I will update our chart as needed.
