I have to ask about the elliptical miles because I would have a bunch too. Hoping to get in my first run tomorrow.
My opinion is that as long as we know you're planning on doing this, it's ok.
For example, say "Jane" asks if she can count elliptical miles. That means (to me ), that this is a planned part of their goal. To me, "run" is how you define it. (Same is true of the bike and swim. Some people count swim drills. Others don't. It's all in how they plan their goal. )
Basically, (to me again, ) the purpose of a Challenge is to get people off the couch and doing something. So if "elliptical work" is important to them, and they calculate their goal to include it, then yes, they can count their progress with it.
Um. Did that make any sense? LOL
In other words - if you plan a "run goal" that includes your elliptical time, it counts.
