Subject: I am troubled about a Christmas song. . .Those who know me say I am a very literal person. In that light, I ask the following question about the song "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer". One friend told me I need some fresh air. The singer says "you know Dasher and Dancer, etc." and then sings "and do you recall the most FAMOUS reindeer of all?" and then he starts singing Rudolph's life history.
QUESTION: If Rudolph IS the most famous reindeer of all, WHY is the guy spending the time singing about him? Wouldn't we already know Rudolph's story? Either the singer thinks we are forgetful, or maybe Rudolph REALLY isn't the most famous reindeer of all. Perhaps the singer's time may be better spent telling us about the other, less-famous reindeer.
Any thoughts? Can you tell that I am just a barrel of fun to live with? Can you tell I need to get a life? Hey, it's Friday afternoon.
