Subject: RE: Garmin HR reading way too high It could be a couple things. 1. The battery 2. HR and intensity/speed are linear to a point, but then you get to a point where HR starts to stay more constant no matter how much harder you go. This point, however, is very high (Above your AT) and in no way would it feel like RPE 2! So that's out. 3. There is cardiatic drift. Your HR can slowly move up as your workout at the same RPE. Due to body heat and constriction of capilaries and dehydration. At times, I can start in Z2 at a certain RPE, then move to Z4 for a while, but when I go back to Z2, I have to go at a lower RPE to maintain my Z2 HR. Does that make ANY sense the way I wrote it? 4. I have found poor contact with the strap while running will cause erronious readings. Good luck... |
