Oliver Half BT Get Together

Sounds great. Unfortunately I will be working (Osoyoos) till 3pm Sat. then I have to do registration and bike check in.

When is everyone getting here? How about a Fri. night (5/5:30ish) happy hour? We could hang out at Rotary beach (swim start), public drinking isn't allowed but not enforced if not made obvious.

I would love to have everyone come to my place but we live in an apartment so room is limited. Unless the numbers are small then could be a possibility.

If the Sat. afternoon is better for everyone, and you're looking for a restaurant gathering then I can make reservations for you. As a local I disagree about the plethora of good eateries here. However I would recommend a couple places.

Haz, if it's only the heat you're worried about at Lakeside I don't think you should be concerned. They're actually calling for rain race day and temps are only supposed to be in the high 20's, maybe low 30's. I very much doubt we'll have a repeat of last year.

Are you camping or in a room? 

The heat is only #1 on my list of concerns...theres a bunch of other stuff too! We are camping and it would figure that it would decide to rain in Oliver while we are out in the elements! I'm good with Friday or Saturday, dinner out would be great, I have a tradition of Spaghetti and meatballs prior to a race (well I sometimes get drunk the night before, but no more) so Italian would be great! thanks Peby! 

Saturday works for us I think a little cafe with coffee /lunch / light snacks would be great! and I'm up for a swim beforehand say around 1030 - 1100?

As for the BBQ at Sasamat; It was a great day...right up until they pulled the pour soul out of the lake...dead. Which will do wonders for my already overactive imagination in that lake. I'll be seeing ghosts below me I'm sure *shudder*

There's a place on main St. called "Cock & Bull" which is right beside "Cantaloupe Annies" Both places are highly recommended for lunch etc. They have a few tables on the side walk too.

I'll be registering around 3:30/4 if anyone happens to be around then.

A suggestion then would be to meet at bike check in between 4/4:30pm Sat. From there we can go to the meeting. I'll know my race # Thur. night so I'll post it and we meet at that bike rack.

Thoughts? 

I promise no beatings...unless maybe you are in my age group.

If you want I can make reservations at "Savvios" for the Sat night past dinner. Just need numbers and a time. My appearance depends on family obligations.  

Awesome up here, shirt off, sun is shining, went for a morning bike ride then a dip in the lake...now it is off for a bit of wine tasting for some of the Okanagan's finest! I think we'll be staying a bit longer than planned! Oliver is so pretty! And awesome! It's pretty awesome!!! I've PM'ed a few of ya'll my cell, call me if you want to get together for a swim / drink / foods

Sure did.....in the pouring rain! Stopped about half way through the bike though.
