Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Garmin-Chipotle Team Thread Hi Garmin Chipotle,
Welcome to the Tour De France Bike Challenge 2008.
Making its very first appearance in the Tour De France this year, this American team has some well established cycling names in its line up. The team includes three of the four American riders appearing in this years Tour de France in Christian Vande Velde, Danny Pate and Will Frischkorn.
This team will also get a strong following from Down Under with kiwi rider Julian Dean and Australian rider Trent Lowe in the line up. In the team car will be former Australian Discovery rider Matt White as Directeur Sportif for the team.
Goals in this years race for the team are expected to revolve around stage wins but Julian Dean is a phenomenal sprinter who could challenge for the Green while Trent Lowe and Danny Pate are both picked as Grand Tour contenders of the future – expect the unexpected from this team who will be out to prove they belong in the Tour De France.
On BT, your team line up for the challenge is: 1. Artemis 2. enders_shadow 3. geauxtri 4. geezertri 5. jenni4 6. kleinrider 7. lwood tri 8. MaesMama 9. wemoon
Now you have found the team thread, introduce yourself to your team mates below with some information which could include name, goals or info on your current bike(s).
Reporting for the challenge over the next three weeks will take place in three blocks matching the Tour De France racing days. The dates are as follows: Week 1: 5th – 14th July Week 2: 15th – 21 July Week 3: 22 – 27 July
Your team has a tracking spreadsheet set up and active in google spreadsheet. To open the spreadsheet click on this link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pfYL7DR_dx-AejRBIPjLOCw&... />
To login to Google Docs: Username: btchallenge Password: challengeforum
You can update the spreadsheet at any time to track your own, and your teams progress. I will be grabbing each teams results to date and posting a challenge update that includes all of the teams progress and any interesting tid bits from the various team threads. This update will be posted at the end of the each reporting week listed above.
The winning team will be determined by the team with the highest percentage of goal achieved. No one can go over 100% of goal and if more than one team hits 100% then there is more than one winning team!
To remind everyone to post their updates, and I recommend that you nominate a team leader to help with reminding everyone to report in each week. But the job of inspiring and motivating your team mate really does rest with each individual so don’t forget to give everyone some regular encouragement here in the team thread and through inspires on training logs.
I will try to pop in regularly to see how your team is getting on. If there are any questions throughout the course of the challenge let me know, I will pop back in the next 24 hours with some additional information and rider profiles for your Tour De France team before the action kicks off on the roads of France. Happy Pedaling Cat |

I'm not able to be a team leader this month - work is going to be way too busy in the middle. I will put together a team table that people can put in their logs, though. Should be a fun month!! |

Geez did a TdF prologue today (yeah I know there aint no prologue in the tour this year but the Geez is an old fart traditionalist). 125 mile Tour of Southern Rural KC area Missouri and back to KS. Garminites can see my run at Garmin Connect I could tell when I crossed into Missouri without even looking at my Garmn 705; the roads got really, really crappy. Great to get back into Kansas near Louisbourg. Let's get out there and ride tomorrow!.

Just a reminder that there is a 24 hour ban on talking about the day's tour events in the team threads. Sorry to be a stickler, but this was a big problem last year. |
