Danskin Women's Triathlon

Sunny
Total Time = 00m
Overall Rank = 1099/3650
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 152/311
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:45am. Wheat bagel with peanut butter for breakfast. Banana about 40 minutes before my wave start.
Event warmup:

Stretched, but just a little. Ended up cutting it way close waiting in line for the bathroom.
Swim
  • 15m 52s
  • 800 meters
  • 01m 59s / 100 meters
Comments:

This was pretty good, but I was hoping for a swim time around 14 minutes. Unfortunately, I had a hard time spotting because of the glare off the water (I was wearing my clear pool goggles) and I swam off course twice.
What would you do differently?:

New goggles. More time in open water. More practice spotting.
Transition 1
  • 03m 23s
Comments:

I got lost on the way to my row. I recovered quickly but could probably do this a little faster.
What would you do differently?:

I would not get lost.
Bike
  • 47m 26s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 15.68 mile/hr
Comments:

I did really well I think considering that I wanted to quit because of this part of the race about a week ago. I was expecting about 12-13mph, so I'm very happy with this.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. I think I can get stronger, but this was a good start.
Transition 2
  • 02m 31s
Comments:

I tried to run with the bike into the transition area, but my legs were not having it. So I walked. Maybe once I get more used to this I'll be able to jump off the bike and run.
What would you do differently?:

Just shave a little time off by running into the transition area.
Run
  • 32m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

A 10:20 pace for me is very solid, and one of my faster 5ks. I think my fastest 5k PR is only like 20 seconds faster than this. My legs, once I walked and let them re-acclimate to being on the ground I get, recovered nicely, and I felt good the entire run.
What would you do differently?:

Try to get a little faster, but this was definitely a good time for me.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a bit. Totally forgot to stretch because I was trying to find my people.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Faster? This very well may have been the top of the mountain for me.

Event comments:

Great first triathlon! This is probably one of my best races ever. Loved it!
