Dear BT friends,
I am overwhelmed by your kind words. I constantly tell people how great this sport is. I've learned that what makes it great is the people in it.
I would ask you to think of/pray for me today at noon central time. That's when her service and I am one of the speakers. In general, speaking doesn't bother me. But, I've never spoken at a memorial service, much less my wifes.
Many have asked if there is a way to support the family or a charity. There answer is yes to both. You may either send a donation to the Stephanie Johnson Memorial Fund, which will be used for my children, or you can make a donation to The Stephanie Johnson Triathlon, a Super Sprint I started in her honor last year to raise money for research and help other families in the battle against cancer.
The Stephanie Johnson Memorial Fund, c/o Kim Ridder, Amegy Bank N.A., 10811 Louetta Road, Houston, TX 77070 or via paypal at [email protected]
The Stephanie Johnson Triathlon at www.TriUntilTheresACure.org. Buy a ribbon of hope in honor/memory of someone you've known with cancer. Ribbons will be displayed at the race. This is a 501c3 non-profit charity, so all donations are tax deductible.
Also, we will be using 3 videos in the service today. As soon as possible, those will be put online. When they are ready, I'll post the links under this thread so you may see them.
Finally, there is an Everlasting Memorial posted on mem.com. In the search box search by her name.
Again, thank you so much. I can't wait to get back to training and to see you at future races.
Sincerely,
Greg
