In 4 more hours.  Trying to figure out if CBC will show it live.   Starts at 10 AM, Monday in Beijing.  (My head is still spinning with the time difference)

I have an easy time change of exactly 12 hours. NBC is showing the triathlon online as well as some coverage on the television.

I heard NBC will be cutting in and out on the women's tri, but you can and should watch it on www.nbcolympics.com to catch the whole thing.

CBC is broadcasting it as well as the men's tomorrow, both starting at 10pm (EST).  I believe you can watch online at www.cbc.ca

Just be glad that you don't have to watch it with Arabic commentary. I'm overseas right now and the channel we pick up while underway showing the olympics has really good live coverage but it's all Arabic. I feel like I've watched it so much I'll learn to speak it soon. All that time wasted in Spanish class We're 5 hours behind China right now. We change time zones atleast 1-2 times a week so who knows anymore. Anyway, just glad to be watching it and thanking myself for getting TiVo before this trip started.

We can't stream video either

I can't get it to play, is this probably because I'm in the US?

Me neither.  I'm so lucky to have the CBC channel out of Vancouver,  and they are getting ready to show it...

Vanessa is right there drafting in the lead pack... I have to cheer for her or Emma just cuz they are wicked fast!

edit to add - Vanessa stroke rate is crazy! it is definitely higher than that of the other swim leaders. she looks like a windmill

I'm watching it right now on the NBC site.  I had to enter my zip code and cable provider and then I'm able to watch any of the videos.

This is fascinating to watch a triathlon with so few athletes.  You can really tell them apart.  And, you can tell it's all elites - they are so bunched together!  This is great!

I kind of wish there were commentary. I've got it Tivoing a lot of crap on tv, so hopefully they'll provide some.

I want those buoys at my next race..."here, go at exactly this angle to line up for the next buoy".

Hahaha, the notes along with the broadcast say it's "a wet mosh pit on the turns."  I'd hardly call a couple dozen swimmers a mosh pit.  An Ironman swim with  2,000 others maybe...

AmbulanceDriver - 2008-08-17 10:12 PM I want those buoys at my next race..."here, go at exactly this angle to line up for the next buoy".

I know! That's really handy - might help with the usual mass chaos that is buoy-rounding at regular triathlons.

Laura Bennett currently in 2nd place according to the screen. I know it's WAY early in the game.

Yes, that's where I'm watching it.  No commentary so you have to try and follow it yourself pretty much.  They pop up a few notes here and there in the commentary box.
