Subject: Non BT training plan,

I have a plan I am using and want to have it in my planned log...is there a way to make my own training plan and import it into my log?

There sure is.

This article on Importing and Exporting training plans has all the details. Read it, give a shot and let us know if we can answer any questions about it.

Or if you don't want to bother with the Excel import, try Creating Your Own Training Plan.

Instead of putting your plan in an Excel format and importing it into your training log, you would enter it directly into your training plan database.

Excellent..I will try this over the weekend.  My coach only gives me week to week, so I iwll edit it weekly...hopefully I'll get the hang of it!

Thanks!

If that is the case, use my option, it will be a lot easier to keep adding on to your training plan.  Though after you add a week, you will have to 'import' it into your log just like any other BT plan into your planned training log, you will just have to make sure you are only importing the 'newest' week by making sure you select the proper date ranges.

The good thing in doing it this way is when your are all done adding to your training plan, you can re-use the entire thing next year, assuming you like the plan and have similiar goals.

One I make my training plan, can I import it into my planned area?  Or do I have to upgrade to Gold mmebership from Silver?

Absolutely, you can do this with your current membership. You could even do this with a Bronze plan. The only difference between Gold and Silver memberships is that the Gold gets you access to the D3Multisport coaches in the Training Plan Support forum.

Here's a question on a similar note: Is there a way to take workouts I've already entered in my planned training (a 20 week plan I did last year for example) and turn it into a saved plan? Without having to re-enter all those workouts?

from what I can tell, is if you made a plan and saved it and gave it a name..then you should be able to import it at any time into your planned training like you were importing any other plan... my Miami Man HIm training plan is listed under training plans and when I try ito miport it, it just asks me the date I want tio have it start/conclude on...make sense?

I assume you are talking about the 'current plan' link at the top, just go to your training log settings, click on the 'defaults' tab and scroll to the bottom to change it to 'none/other'.

Correct, just choose your dates and the days you want to import.

That may have been asked before, sounds familiar.  Will see what marmadaddy says on how easy that would be, that or send him a pm and he may be able to do it quick on the back-end without creating some formal code for the process...

Aaron, send me the date range and I'll take care of this.  It can be done with a not too terribly complex ad hoc query in the database. It would certainly be more efficient than doing it by hand.

I'm going to be jockstrapping for my wife at the Cranberry County Tri in Mass. for the weekend so while I will be online occasionally, I won't have the ability to do any database type work, so I won't be able to work on this  until early next week.

I keep entering and uplading my training program each week as my coach gives it ot me and I had also changed on my training settings to have "no plan/other" but in my planned area it still has my old BT plan in there (on weeks that I ahve not yet imported my coaches plan)  How do I fully get rid of the old plan?  Did any of that make sense?

You probably still have the old training plan in your 'planned training' over 1 week out.  A simple deletion should get rid of the actual plan:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=480

Look in your planned calendar to figure out the date ranges you want to delete (how far out the old plan goes)...it looks like need to delete everything from when your new plan ends (this week?) to November 9th.
