Subject: RE: Need a new treadmill - suggestions?Check with your local recreation center to see how often they rotate out their equipment and the process they go through when getting rid of it. In my facility many of the treadmills I replace are still in good working order but are replaced according to a "lifespan" we place on them. Those treadmills that are removed are sent to a surplus warehouse where they are auctioned off. They are great b/c they are popular major namebrands that can take a great deal of abuse and last a longtime (I've seen LifeFitness TM's go for 10 years and manymany miles). I know that there are also warehouses out there that sell re-furbished commercial equipment. (google it, I know there's one out of Denver that has a good reputation) Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions.... after being in rec centers for the past years, I've gotten to know my commercial grade TM's pretty good. BTW... Precor is also a VERY reputable brand.... |
