Subject: RE: IM LouisvillePlissken74 - 2008-09-13 2:31 PM I see that it is still with accepting aplications... About the bike course: I see it with lot of hills but it is difficult to perceive the difficult grades from the map. Can anyone post some comments on the bike course please? I think it should be quite difficult since I see hawaii qualifiers on the high side around 10h40 for M35-39...
The bike course is not really that difficult. There are a couple of hills around the 30 mile mark but they are steep and short. Once you get out in the loop, the hills are not steep, but they just keep coming at you in waves. On the bike, your bigger concern is going to be the heat than the hills. IM Louisville is the final qualifier for Kona in that year. So, if you take a Kona spot, you're racing again in 6-8 weeks. I heard that last year, at least one of the Kona spots for M35-39 rolled all the way out and wasn't claimed. |
